Abstract
Our research identifies four profiles of employees’ attitudes toward AI: Intrepids, Reticents, Skeptics, and Dissenters. Employees in these four categories react differently to the introduction of enterprise AI. AI Intrepids are most likely to engage in using AI. However, we found that Intrepids are outnumbered by Dissenters who are most likely to search for employment elsewhere. Losing key employees with deep organizational and task knowledge can be damaging for organizations as they embark on AI-enabled transformation. Thus, we suggest organizations need to know their people, pay attention to the emotional side of attitudes, and build AI applications that deliver.
