Challenge
Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming ubiquitous and permeating our work and private lives. A key area of application is AI-based digital assistants, which are now becoming available in large numbers and a wide variety of usage scenarios. The current advancements and spread of digital and intelligent technologies, give the opportunity of deepening, exploring, and even rethinking the foundations of human technology use. The increasing adoption of these interactive technologies is changing how people work, reflect on themselves, perform physical activity, and manage their health, encouraging us to explore the impacts of such technologies on mind and behavior and how humans interact with these tools. Adding further, well-being at the workplace is an emerging topic in scholarly research. The term well-being involves the physical, emotional, mental and social aspects. The individual’s experience at work affects the work he does in the organization and his non-work life. The work setting is one of the important antecedents that affect well-being at work. The adoption of digital and intelligent technologies in organizations has changed the work environment consequently inspire a discussion on human-technology interaction and its consequences on well-being.
Aim
This study will employ case studies of individuals using different interactive and digital technologies like My Analytics, Apple Siri etc.
Contribution
This study is expected to contribute to the theoretical background of human-technology interaction and its impacts on workers’ well-being. The study is also anticipated to help organizations and practitioners by providing insights into how AI-based Personal Assistants can improve staff well-being.
